So many memories, almost five decades worth!
Some of the fondest memories center around the years spent at the Mount Sinai Rifle & Pistol Club. Each adventure to the club began days before. Who was bringing what, how we would fit everybody and everything into the Dinosaur (Phil's racing Suburban). What way we would make the drive and most important, where to stop and eat on the way.
Hunting, hiking, fishing, work weekends and exploring the Catskills were the events that got us together.
But, the most important and lasting moments in time (particularly in the days before the cabin had television, telephone, indoor "plumbing" and running water) were the meals, conversations, stories (some true some not so much), arguments and devising solutions to the world's problems as we sat around the table, in the cabin.
Hunting, improving the property and love of the outdoors may have been the common thread that lead us there. But, it was those moments of lives shared and stories told that created deep bonds. And there was Phil... at the center of it all. My teacher, friend, peer and confidant.
