John Egner was my teacher at Wayne State University from 1966-1970. He was a huge influence on me. I still think of him often and the lessons he taught me. He encouraged us to think for ourselves. When we wanted to talk about our work we had 2 hour conversations. I will miss him. (My name when he knew me was Mary Turteltaub, now it is Malka Kutnick)
The family of Joe McHale send deepest condolences to Linda and family. Fond memories of John and Joe’s friendship and times together; of his contribution to the DIA show in Memory of Joe McHale and his and Linda’s kindness to Barbara after Joe’s passing. A life in art well-lived!
My deepest heartfelt condolences to all of John’s loved ones. His intellect and passion as a teacher and mentor to me while in the Wayne MFA program were of great assistance to my career. I remember his firm and warm insistence on commitment that came from a belief in how to operate as an artist. May peace be with his family and friends.
