John Butler was one of the first people I met when my wife and I first moved to Stamford. John had a caring and nurturing quality about him that helped me through some trying times. When it was time to sell our house, a building inspector did a botched job of the inspection. John came to the rescue. He performed the inspection correctly and the house went on to sell. I tried to pay him, but all he was interested in was the old workbench in my basement. John accepted the workbench as payment and asked if there was anything else he could do to help? There were two giant pieces of furniture that had to go to Core Values, and I asked if he could come back with his pick- up truck in a day or two. John was there and we got the furniture moved. He would not take money for gas. John was kind with his words and generous with his gifts. My condolences to the family.

Mr. Butler was one of the sweetest men that I ever met! I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to the family. I knew John from when I attended NCOC from Fall of 86' to Spring of 88' for Office Occupations. He was always at the front door greeting students as they entered the building each day. Years later, I saw John in St. Phillip Neri church in Grand Gorge, and he still remembered me. What a kind soul.
