Obituary of David Charles Pindar
David Charles Pindar, 69, of Jefferson passed away on Tuesday morning, November 19, 2024 at Robinson Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center following a long illness.
Born on March 22, 1955 in Delhi, NY, Dave was the son of the late Arthur Dewitt and Laura Mae (Mansheffer) Pindar.
He proudly served in the US Army from 1972, enlisting at the age of 17, until his honorable discharge in 1992, serving for 20 years and obtaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. While in the Army, he gained his high school diploma at the Nuernberg American High School in West Germany and his Associates degree in Business Management. Dave was also an Engineer along with being Drill Sargent while serving his country. He had many stories to tell about his time in the Army. Following his retirement from the Army, Dave worked different jobs until his later retirement.
Dave got a kick out of spending time at home with his wife Annie. He also enjoyed watching movies, keeping current on local and world events, and sharing local history. He was the go to guy in the woods for many people. He was sought out for his knowledge and perspective. This was mainly due to his traveling with the Army and meeting with many people of different backgrounds. He absolutely adored his son, Mark, whom was one of his best friends. He was so proud of him and his accomplishments.
Besides his parents, Dave was predeceased by his dear sister Mary Eck, and his three wonderful brother-in-laws, Jim Bellinger, Paul Rottingen and Steve Schmitt.
He is survived by his wife: Anne-Marie Pindar of Jefferson; son: Mark (Mary Jane) Pindar of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren: Natalie, Brandon, Ryan and Heidi; step children: Rose-Anne (Keith) Gavette, Wayne (Sara) Morse III, Sarah (Joel Lee) Morse and Emily Burgher; step grandchildren: Michael, Anastasia, Xandria, Lukas, Vivian, Izyck, Markus and Mayson; sisters: Joann (Jeff Pidgeon) Rottingen, Nancy (Demming) Lindsley, Carol Schmitt, Kathleen (Marc) Niles; brother: Robert (Michelle) Pindar; and many beloved nieces, nephews and good friends.
