Obituary of Mary Edna Davis

Mary Edna Davis went to be with our Lord on July 19, 2024. Edna was born August 30, 1933, in Yonkers NY to Walter E Finn and Mary Edna Fennel. The family eventually settled in upstate NY. Edna graduated from A.L. Kellogg School in Treadwell in 1952.

She went on to get her registered nursing degree from the Wilson Memorial School of Nursing in Johnson City in 1955. She worked for Stamford Hospital after graduation. She met and married Floyd Edwin Hillis in July 1956. They resided on the family farm on Kiff Brook in Bloomville. He predeceased her in 1966.

In 1969 she married Myron U Davis, moving to Delhi and eventually working for Delaware County Public Health. She was also employed by Decker Ambulance Service and Delaware County Emergency Services.

Edna was a devout Christian, an active member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church serving on committees and singing in the choir. She was an EMT and member of the Delhi Emergency Squad, dedicating her life to helping others. She loved hunting, and traveling but was happiest surrounded by her family.

Edna is survived by her children Thomas Hillis (Beverly), Timothy Hillis, (Dawn) Joan Bolles (Roger), Cynthia Hillis-Brunson, Gerald Hillis (Deirdre), Paul Hillis (Juliane), Rodney Davis (Allison), Kathleen Peterik (Michael), Richard Davis (Bunny Knapp). Two sisters, Patrica Lynn (Robert), and Arline Wellenreuther, and many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husbands, Floyd Hillis, Myron Davis, daughter Kathleen Manch, grand daughter Chelsea Davis, son-in-law Reginald Brunson, brother-in-law Karl Wellenreuther, and brother Walter Finn.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday September 7, 2024, at 11:00 am the Christian Missionary Alliance Church Delhi NY, burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Delhi Fire Department or the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
