Obituary of Keith J. Champlin
On July 28th 2024, Keith passed peacefully, joining his eternal family.
As a kid on the family farm, he could usually be found hunting for either squirrels, rabbits or deer. He would also hunt at night with his father for raccoons, to sell the pelts.
During trapping season, you could find Keith checking his traps multiple times a day, in hopes of making some extra Christmas money. He even taught his younger sister how to trap and process whatever they caught.
As an adult, Keith turned to healthcare and became a Certified Nursing Assistant, which became his true passion.
Over the years, he cared for many, many people, whether it was private home care or working for the county. Keith had the utmost respect and dignity for everyone he cared for, taking pride in every person he helped. He treated all his clients like they were a member of his own family.
Keith was a hard-working dedicated man, that would give whatever he had to anyone that needed it.
Keith is survived by his fiancé: Rachel Fournier; his son: Aiden; two daughters: Novalee and Ellie; as well as his step-daughter: Mylie; his sister: Darlene Ackerman; his nieces: Leann Albanese (Gabe), Kayla Martin and Amanda Martin; two great-nieces: as well as six great-nephews; his one very special aunt: Dorothy Cohn; and two best friends: Gessika Harris and Sue Katzenstein-Feliu who never left his side.
Keith will always be remembered for his sense of humor and smart-ass remarks, which could always make you smile, no matter what kind of mood you were in. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Per Keith’s request, there will be no calling hours or public service. A celebration of life will be held at Keith’s home, at 800 Betty Brook Rd., South Kortright, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2 PM. All are welcome to join the “BBQ and party” to celebrate Keith, as he wanted.
A small private graveside service will be held with close friends and family, at a later date.
We would like for all to remember that for every loss on this side, there is a reunion on the other side.
