Obituary of Bonnie V. Hamm

Bonnie Hamm, 83, of Harpersfield passed away May 11, 2024 at O’Connor Hospital, Delhi, NY

Born on August 15,1940 in Delhi, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Francis Hamm and Alice (Storey) Hamm.

She had a companionship with Kenneth A Merwin Sr. which lasted 42 years until his passing on October 1,2001.

Bonnie loved spending time with family. She loved to cook and bake and making several Sunday dinners was her specialty. Bonnie enjoyed taking rides in the fall. She also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, and arts and crafts. She loved children.

Bonnie was a private home aide and babysitter. She also worked in the cafeteria and at Deer Run she was known as the "chili" lady.

Besides her parents, Bonnie was predeceased by her daughter: Penny Hamm; brothers: Floyd Hamm and Charlie Anderson; and a sister: Dot Meyerhoff.

She is survived by her children: Sue (Butch) Sutherland of Oneonta, Candy (Bruce) VanDuser of Harpersfield, Kent aka “Third” (Darci) Merwin of Davenport,  Jeff (Kelly Drake) Merwin of Davenport, Tammy Zimmerman of Davenport,  Connie Merwin of Davenport, Donna Merwin of Ashland and Glen Merwin of Davenport; eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; siblings: Anna Hamm and Jim ( Bonnie)Hamm of East Meredith; along with several nieces and nephews.

 Calling Hours will be held from 2-4PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford, where a service will follow at 4PM. A celebration will follow the service at East Meredith Fire Department.

 Contribution in memory of Bonnie can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org)
