Linda Bryan

Obituary of Linda Kay Bryan

Linda Kay Bryan 71, of Meridale NY, went home to Jesus peacefully, surrounded by the love of family, friends, and wonderful care givers on March 29, 2024.

Born on March 26, 1953, in Amlin, OH, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Johnson and Ethel Halley.

Linda graduated from Delaware Academy, Delhi, NY and on April 2nd, 1971, she married her loving husband, John L. Bryan.

Linda worked several years as a CNA caring for many patients during that time. For those who worked with her, she is remembered as being very compassionate, gentle, kind, and the person you would want to work with.

She was passionate about her faith, love for the Lord, and her church family. Linda was known to be a powerful prayer warrior and has touched many lives as a result.  She was also known for her love of horses and horseback riding, which she passed on to her daughter Rachel and granddaughter Sarah. Linda was silent in many ways about how she lived. Her love, strength, and wisdom were silent but powerful, as she was often the pillar of strength for her family. She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed attending Logan's soccer games and Sarah's horse shows. Linda was very proud of them both and they brought endless enjoyment and smiles to her. When not with her grandchildren, Linda enjoyed going to car shows and taking scenic rides over the back roads with her husband, John. She was never one to pass up a stop for ice cream along the way. Linda also loved spending time with her sisters, Diane and Sandy. Spending time with her family brought much happiness to her.

Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by her sisters Marilyn Gonzalez and Susan Finch, and her brother, Joe (Eugene Johnson).

Her silent love and strength will forever be cherished in the lives of her family: her loving husband John Bryan of 53 years, daughter Kelly Ogborn (Greg Mangione), daughter Rachel Fisher (Eddie), grandchildren Logan Bryan and Sarah Fisher, sister Diana Kelly, sister Sandy Bouton (John), and brother Steve Curless (Ellie) as well as several nieces and nephews.

Do not be sad, for Linda has passed into the arms of our Lord, her physical life on earth is over but it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff at O'Connor Hospital for their exceptional care, kindness, gentleness, and dignity that was shown. Our wife, mom, grandmother, and sister received two-fold what she gave to others.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 3:00PM on April 13th, 2024, at Delhi Community Church, 46378 State Hwy 10, Delhi, NY 13753. Calling hours will be from 1:00PM-2:30PM followed by the celebration.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the youth group ministry as Linda was passionate about the youth of the church. Checks can be made out to Delhi Community Church and in the memo please note "Youth Ministry."

Matthew 25:23: His lord said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things, Enter into the joy of your lord."
