Valentino P. Procida went home to be with his beloved Mother and Father on January 21, 2024 at age 94.
Val was born October 2, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York. He was the youngest of six children of Mario and Enes (Castronuovo) Procida.
In 1951, he served in the United States Army. He worked as a machinist until the health of his parents declined. He moved them out of the city where he cared for his parents and operated a dairy farm for 12 years. He retired from So. Kortright School as bus driver/head mechanic.
Val’s most recent passion was researching and writing a book about his family lineage. He will forever be remembered for his dedication for taking care of his parents.
Val is survived by his wife, Laurie, his step children, James (Jessica), Joey (Samantha), Tommi (Jared), and sister, Agnes. He also leaves behind 6 step grandchildren, a step grand dog, a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, and many loyal friends and extended family members.
Val is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carmello and Gregorio, sisters Rosa and Rose.
A celebration of life will be held in the Spring. We will notify all friends and family. This celebration will be Val’s final chapter of his book.
