Obituary of Regina M. Ordmandy
Regina Miriam Ordmandy, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 24th 2023 surrounded by her loving family at O’Connor Hospital of Delhi, NY.
Regina was born on August 30th 1935 in New York City and grew up in Franklin Square, NY.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, William Ordmandy, daughter, Regina Marie Ordmandy, granddaughter, Janine Ordmandy, brother John Carlsen and son in law Francis DiJiulio.
She is survived by her children, William Ordmandy (Kathy), Gerard Ordmandy (Melissa), Donna DiJiulio (Darrell), Craig Ordmandy (Lisa), Elizabeth Wiggins (Paul) and Patrice Wright. Her grandchildren, Melissa Skinner (Mark), Dustin DiJiulio (Robi Anne), Ashley Crandall (Michael), Lindsay Barno (Andrew), Pam Mahon (Ryan), Scott Hutson (Lauren), Ryan Ordmandy (Ashten), Caitlin Moody (Trevor), Candace Craig (Joe), Sarah Franco (Brian) and Katherine Murdock, along with 21 great grandchildren.
Regina was a devoted and active member of the Catholic Church and the women's auxiliary post 190 in Delhi, NY. She was an incredibly hard worker. She and her late husband, William, owned and operated Pioneer Trails Campground for over 40 years and operated Grandpa's store after her father's passing in 1977. Regina worked for the Countryside Care Center in Delhi NY until she retired and then spent some time as an aid at Delaware Academy Elementary school. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo at the Walton Fire Department and the Delhi Legion. She was the biggest fan in the crowd for all of her family’s recreational events ranging from concerts to theater and sports. But most of all, she loved the holidays and baking and cooking for her family gatherings. Regina loved to Knit for her family and to donate craft items to various fund raisers and local hospitals.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, November 30th from 5-8pm at Hall & Peet Funeral Home in Delhi. A Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, December 1st at St John the Baptist Church in Walton, burial at Hamden Cemetery will follow weather permitting.
