Obituary of Sue L. Skog

Sue L. Skog, 73 of Bloomville, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Bassett Medical Center surrounded by family.

A lifelong resident of Bloomville, born to Dorothy (Hitt) and Malcolm Johnson, Sue graduated from South Kortright Central School in 1969. She waitressed at several area restaurants making many lifelong friends and memories.

Sue married George Skog Jr. on October 16, 1976 and together they had three children, Stacy, Erik and Matthew. A lifelong homemaker, she was fiercely devoted to her family and those that she loved. Family was everything to her and she enjoyed exploring her family history.

She enjoyed gardening and generously shared all that was harvested with family and friends. Sue enjoyed taking care of others and often expressed her affection by cooking and baking for others by sharing of a cheesecake, canned vegetables or if you were really lucky a platter of Christmas cookies.

Devoted to her family above all, she was a wonderful supporter of her children and an incredible grandmother. A more devoted and prouder grandmother you will not find. Spending time with her grandchildren, listening to their stories and cooking their favorite meals were her favorite things to do.

Besides her parents, Sue was predeceased by her husband George Skog Jr. and a brother: Lynn Johnson.

Sue is survived by her children: Stacy (Kyle) Osborn, Erik Skog (Christine Wellington) and Matthew Skog (Jessica Baldi);  grandchildren: Jon and Lukas Osborn, Liam Wellington-Skog, Madison and Elizabeth Baldi and Sonya Sue Skog; her sister: Linda Burdick (Dean Scherer); nieces and nephews: Debbie (Don) Coager and family, Rick (JoAnn) Nesbitt and family, Amy Burdick (William Vitarius) and their children Lydia and Gage, Joseph Burdick, William Burdick (Virginia Perez).

A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Bloomville Fire Hall followed by a repection and celebration of life, all are welcome.
