Obituary of Matthew J. Brockway

Matthew J. Brockway, 49, of Davenport passed away suddenly on Friday October 6, 2023, following a medical issue at Westchester Medical Center.

Born on May 6, 1974, in Oneonta, Matthew was the son of William “Johnny” and Donna (Dorosky) Brockway.

He owned and operated Brockway Trucking with his son Luke, supplying trucking and excavation to Davenport and surrounding areas.

Matthew was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and hunting.  He had a passion for flying his drone and liked to sing, however his greatest joy was his family, Matthew loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his father: William “Johnny” Brockway in 2014.

Matthew is survived by his mother: Donna Brockway of Davenport; four children: Luke Brockway (Maria Gouldsbury) of Stamford, Madison Brockway of Davenport, Cassidy Brockway of Davenport, and Kaylee Brockway of Davenport; grandchildren: Carson and Olivia Brockway; brother: Marc Brockway of Davenport; special uncle: Ronald Dorosky of Davenport; dear friend: Gweyn Brockway;  along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 2-4PM on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford, NY, where prayers will follow at 4PM with Rev. Frank MacCracken.
