Obituary of John Lawrence Davidson

John joined his parents in heaven on March 10^th, 2023 after a short but mean battle with cancer.

John was born in Oneonta on January 11^th, 1946, to Lawrence James and Elsie (Swenson) Davidson. He grew up on the family farm and was a graduate of AL Kellogg School and Broome Tech. 

John was an outdoor guy.  He loved the Catskill Mountains, beautiful streams, and wildlife.  He enjoyed hiking, gardening, and feeding the birds. He was very proud of his lawn and perennial gardens.  

Of all the jobs John had, the title of Grandad-O was the most cherished. John was a kind person who loved life, his home, family, meeting people and helping others.   

John is survived by his darling Carole Sabatini, his daughters, Jacqueline Goodnough and Jennifer (Hugh) Mitchell (mother Rosemary), granddaughter Emily Rose Mitchell, his sister Joan Crunden and her sons, Jim (Sidra) and Chris (Gabi) and their children, many cousins including special cousin George (Barb) Thompson.  John was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Elsie Davidson and his son-in-law Erich Goodnough. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catskill Forest Association or AL Kellogg Athletic Field and Pavilion.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2PM on April 22, 2023 at the Treadwell United Methodist Church, friends and relatives are invited to call from 1-2PM at the church. Burial will be in the Franklin Ouleout Valley Cemetery.
