Obituary of Ruth Ann Kurtz

Ruth Ann Kurtz (Harford) of Delhi, NY, formerly of Port Jervis, NY, passed away November 26, 2022 at her home surrounded by her daughters and many grandchildren. She was 77 years old.

Ruth was born December 6, 1944 to Floyd and Katherine (Borsdam) Harford in Honesdale PA. Shortly afterwards her family moved to Port Jervis where she became a lifelong resident. She was employed as a seamstress at Barbara Quilting. Ruth loved sewing and was amazing at it. When she began having children Ruth left work to raise her daughters. She babysat "tons" of kids and continued to bless others with her sewing talents and abilities. Her tremendous faith in God was evident by the way she served others. She loved life, laughing, growing plants, and was a collector of things cute, pretty, shiny and beautiful. She had a comical way about her and often brought joy and laughter to those around her. Her grandchildren said  "Gram was the glue that held us together". They were right. She will be sorely missed by all of us.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, John H. Kurtz, her sister Carol Tufano, and her brothers James Harford and Raymond Harford.

She is survived by her daughters Jacqueline Kurtz, Allison Prietz and Valerie Morgan of the Delhi area, her grandchildren Kalan, Ashley, Alese, Daniele, and Jeremiah, also of the Delhi area, Naomi of Honolulu H.I., Riona of Newburgh N.Y., Malcolm of Walden N.Y., and Leah of Brooklyn N.Y. She also leaves behind one brother Keith Harford and his wife Pat of Tennessee, sister Diane Graham and husband Jim of Port Jervis, brother Louis Harford of Port Jervis, and 11 great grandchildren.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held March 25 at 1 pm, Abundant Life Church, Assembly of God of Delhi, 79 Assembly Lane, Delhi,NY,13753.
