Obituary of Silvio Dianich
Silvio Dianich, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother passed away Wednesday Dec. 22, 2021 after a brief illness at the age of 89.
Silvio was born in Valdarsa (Trieste) Italy where his sister and family still reside today. He came to NYC on a ship that he was working on and remained in New York. He met Norma at the Voltaro Club in NYC and soon after married in 1957. They bought a coffee shop in NYC and started cooking and managing the shop. After selling the coffee shop Silvio started building and selling houses in Shirley Long Island with his brother Guerrino and his cousin Tony. At that time they bought an apartment building in Brooklyn and started his own Construction business. Eventually they moved to Ozone Park Queens and on weekends searched for property in Stamford.
In 1971 they bought "the Farm" on Pickens Road that we all came to love. Retirement on the farm was filled with farming and gardening and hunting and auctions and family and friends and lots of laughter. Silvio was dedicated to his family and loved being a farmer and was still driving tractor and baling and haying and tending to his cows till he was 88 years old.
Silvio is survived by his children Dorine (Norm) Muller and children Eric, Danielle and Melissa, his son Anthony (Deb) Dianich and children Luke, Ryan and Amber and son Joe (Sharon) Dianich and children Robert and Rebecca and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Guerrino (Maria) Dianich and children Michael and family and brother Marcello Dianich and sister Alma and family in Trieste, Italy. Also surviving is his niece Linda Minetti and family. He is predeceased by his wife Norma.
Calling hours are Tues. Dec. 28th 2021 from 4-7pm at the MacArthur Funeral Home in Stamford, NY. A Christian graveside burial will be at 1:00pm Wednesday Dec. 29, 2021 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stamford with Father Paul Mijas celebrant.
