Obituary of Otto Hossbach
Otto Hossbach, 70, of Bloomville passed away peacefully after being surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 3, 2021.
Born June 12, 1951 in Suffern, NY, he was the son of the late Yarmila Cooper and Otto Hossbach. Otto was a South Kortright Central School graduate in the Class of 1970.
Otto loved to hunt and fish, being outdoors was something he looked forward to. He had a green thumb with plum trees, raspberries, blueberries, eggplants, and more. Otto loved family dinners and was always the last to be done eating. His animals were very important to him –dogs, chickens, and cats. He enjoyed playing poker with family and friends, watching the history channel, had an eye for classic cars, and loved listening to music to and from work in Walton where he worked at the Kraft/Breakstones plant for over 45 years. Otto was a good friend to many and believed it was important to do a quality job the first time around, take pride in your work.
Otto was predeceased by his parents and his wife of 50 years, Carole (Rifenbark) Hossbach in May, 2021.
He is survived by his four children: Krislynn (Michael Dengler) of South Kortright, NY, Ann (Stephen Smith) of Selah, Washington, Gail (Michael O’Brien) of Haines Falls, NY, and Kurt Hossbach of Bloomville, NY; six grandchildren: Zachery, Kenz, Megan, Benjamin, Hunter, and Mason; a great grandchildren: Eliana and Kade; siblings: Geraldine Haase and Rosemarie Sackett; along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 5-7PM on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford, NY. Private burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Bloomville.
