Obituary of Carol Ann Rogers

Carol Ann Rogers, 77, formerly of Jefferson, passed away at home in Carrollton, Virginia on June 6, 2021.  Before moving to Virginia, Carol was a resident of Schoharie County for 24 years, and previously resided in Whaley Lake and Brooklyn.  She was born on September 14, 1943, the daughter of the late Robert and Edna Lee.  She married Matthew Rogers Sr. on April 18, 1964 at St. Vincent Ferrer RC Church in Brooklyn.

Carol was a devoted wife and mother, and her love for her family was the main focus of her life. A proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her family brought her limitless joy.  She cherished the times she spent with family and friends and the laughter that came from retelling countless stories of favorite memories.  Carol enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.  She loved being at the beach and visiting wild horses at the Outer Banks.  She also enjoyed watching dolphins and sea lions at Virginia Beach.

She will be remembered with love by her seven sons, Matthew Jr. and his wife, Karen of Lagrangeville, Michael of Pleasant Valley, Robert and his wife, Cynthia of Ravena, Kevin of Carrollton, VA, Kenneth and his wife, Cheryl of Cobleskill, Michael James and his wife, Crystal of Newport News, VA, and Shawn and his wife Nicole of Wingdale; her cherished grandchildren, Morgan, Christina, Steven, Leanna, Stephen, Christopher, Michael, Brian, Samantha, Jessica, Elora, Madison, Matthew and Dylan, along with six great grandchildren.

Carol also leaves her brothers, Robert and his wife, Janet of Breezy Point, William of Flagstaff, AZ, and her sister, Kathleen of Breezy Point.  She will also be greatly missed by several nieces and nephews.
