Obituary of Vivian G. Rampe

Vivian Gloria Rampe, 96, of Stamford, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at O’Connor Hospital in Delhi.

Born on December 18, 1923 in Auburn, NY, Vivian was the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Lawnicziak) Chayka.  She grew up in Auburn and moved to the Stamford area in 1960.

She was married to the late Harrison Rampe, a local building contractor. Vivian assisted Harrison with the operation of business, bookkeeping and billing.  She also worked as a nursing assistant at Robinson Terrace.

Vivian was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Parish in Stamford and was also active in the Catholic Daughters Society.  She enjoyed nature, gardening and was a league bowler for many years.

Besides her husband, Vivian was predeceased by her brother: Stanley Chayka; and a half-brother: Theodore Beardsley.

She is survived by two sons: John (Julia) Rampe of Harker Heights, TX and David (Andrea) Rampe of Bernardsville, NJ; three granddaughters: Elizabeth Rampe of College Station, TX, Alicia Rampe of Brooklyn, NY and Elena Rampe of Bernardsville, NJ and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to Covid-19 travel restictions the Rampe family has decided to postpone the calling hours and funeral mass, dates and times will be announced.
