Obituary of Sherry M. Coberly

Sherry M. Coberly, 70, of Delhi New York passed away early Monday morning, February 17, 2020 at her home following a courageous battle with breast cancer. Sherry exuded warmth and love to everyone she met. She had a beautiful smile and sparkling blue eyes. Born on June 19, 1949 in Albany, New York, Sherry was the daughter of the late William and Marie (Charpentier) Fagan. Sherry’s family was her number one priority. She was a loving mother, sister and proud grandmother. She was a devout Roman Catholic, she loved going out to nice restaurants, gardening, traveling, arts and crafts, playing solitaire, and watching movies. Sherry worked myriad jobs throughout her life: In her early twenties she worked at the Barbizon modeling school and at the New York Stock Exchange. She dabbled in real estate and selling cars and was a nurse’s aid. Most recently Sherry spent over twenty years as a Nursing Unit Clerk at O’Connor hospital in Delhi, New York. Besides her parents, Sherry was predeceased by her brother, Dennis. Sherry is survived by her children Maria (Lenny) Farnam of Rotterdam, New York, Richie (Gaby) VanBaaren of Corona, California, Laura (Chris) Gallup of Vergennes, Vermont, and Rebecca Coberly of Delhi, New York; eight grandchildren: Cruz VanBaaren, Tylor VanBaaren, Madison Coberly, Tayler Farnam, Miley Farnam, Lexi Hendrickson, Gracie Hendrickson, and Rhys Gallup; siblings: Bonnie Fagan, Linda Gilberg, Robin Vohs, Paula Bartlett, William Fagan, Darlene Smith, Jay Fagan and Michael Fagan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7 PM on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday at St. Peters Church, Cross Street, Delhi with the Father Edward Golding celebrating. Following the Mass please join the family for a gathering at the Delhi Fire Dept. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Bloomville in the spring.
