Obituary of Werner F. VanLooy

Werner F. VanLooy, beloved husband and father went home to glory at age 80 on August, 27 2019.

His early years were spent in New Jersey, but he moved to Jefferson in 1976. Werner took over the pastorate at Calvary Full Gospel Fellowship Church in 1977 and was faithful to his calling until retiring in December of 2018.

Werner or “Van” was a multi-talented man, able to fix or repair anything. He could build a house or a jewelry box. He loved the ocean, sailing and deep-sea fishing. His love was as deep as the ocean and he cared for all. Always a man of his word. His greatest passion was teaching people the Word and love of God and to help them grow in the knowledge of his Savior. Werner was a man of great strength not only in his body and hands, but in his Faith

Werner was predeceased by his mother: Elsie Erk; father: Felix VanLooy; and first wife: Christine VanLooy.

He leaves behind his wife: Lynda (Whiting) VanLooy; children: Kurt and Michele VanLooy, Lori (VanLooy) and Michael Mullin, David VanLooy and Rachelle VanLooy; his grandchildren: Amanda (VanLooy) and Scott Delorenzo, Ryan, Stephanie, and Aubree; great grandchildren: Alexis, Paul, Sophia, and Makayla; a half-brother: Jerry VanLooy of Texas. He also leaves many children and friends of faith in Christ and will be remembered and missed by all.

A memorial service and celebration of Werner's life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Calvary Full Gospel Fellowship, 573 Moxley St, Jefferson, NY 12093
