Obituary of William T. Carr

On July 8th 2019 William T Carr passed away at Life Care Center in Longmont Colorado. Bill was born to Thomas R Carr and Celia Jacobs of Winamac Indiana on June 17th 1931. He was raised along Bruce Lake and if you were lucky enough to spend some time with him he would tell you of his exploits growing up in a small town. From working in a gravel pit in Indiana, Bill moved to Florida where he worked for South Florida Water Management till he retired before moving to New York. His last year he spent in Colorado with his daughter where he enjoyed the warmer weather, his favorite past time painting and eating out at new restaurants.

Bill was one of a kind, he never met a stranger and loved nothing better than to sit down and tell stories. He took pride in his Lincoln, loved his family and enjoyed traveling. Work was always an important part of Bills life as well, he was one of those rare people who truly loved what he did and enjoyed sharing his tales of digging canals and wildlife encounters in south Florida.

Besides his parents, Bill is predeceased by his brother Robert Carr, his wife of 31 years Judith I Carr and two of her children Julie Gloster and James Townsend as well as his beloved companion Molly.

Bill is survived by his children from his first marriage Barb (Steve) their kids Tim and Hope, Brenda (Johnny) their kids Samantha and Jeremy and Tommy (Julie) and son Josh. His adopted daughter Elizabeth-Jo (Mark) and his wife's children, whom he loved dearly, Joni Beth (Henry), Jon Andrew (Karen), Jo-Ellen, Joel David (Teri), Jennifer, and numerous grand children and great-great grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours per Bill's wishes however, everyone who knew him is invited to a graveside funeral service at the Hamden Cemetery at Noon on Thursday July 18th. Following the service will there be a celebration of life at the Hamden Town Hall Pavilion to share stories of this extraordinary man.
