Obituary of Eleanor S. Pickett
Eleanor S. Pickett formerly of Hobart and Stamford passed away early Thursday morning, June 6, 2019, in Limon, Colorado. Born in Hobart on February 2, 1929, she and her twin brother, Edgar, were the youngest of seven children born to Harry and Lillian (Cormany) Simmons.
On November 14, 1952, Eleanor married Francis Pickett at the Hobart Methodist Church. This union lasted 48 years until his death May 18, 2000. Together they raised one son.
Eleanor began her working career at the old Bathgate Hospital in Stamford and then for many years at DelFlo Petroleum, also in Stamford.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Rebecca Pickett of Aurora, Colorado; grandchildren, Gregory and Audrey Pickett; sister-in-law Phyllis (Edgar) Simmons of Colorado; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wayne and Christine Pickett of Stamford; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and parents, sisters Winifred (Augusta) and Edith (Weatherby) and brothers William, Donald, Everett, and Edgar; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Julia Pickett.
Friends and family are invited to call on the family Friday, June 21 from 7 to 9 PM at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, June 22 at the Stamford Cemetery, Stamford with the Rev. Dee Carol Stevens officiating.
