Obituary of Karl F. Zimmermann
Karl F. Zimmermann, 81, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, June 6, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 20, 1937 in Delhi, Karl was the son of the late Frederick H. and Alice (Bolles) Zimmermann.
He was a graduate of Delaware Academy, where he excelled at athletics.
Mr. Zimmermann proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Karl worked for several years with his father in carpentry and then worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry until his retirement.
He was married to his devoted and loving wife, Pauline (Fleischmann) Zimmermann. The couple enjoyed wintering in Lakeland, FL for the past 17 years.
He enjoyed boating on the St. Lawrence River/Seaway and in Canada, however, Karl’s greatest passion was his family. He loved spending time making memories with his family and close friends.
Karl is survived by his wife: Pauline Zimmermann; three very loving children: Pauline (Patrick) Dugan, Tina (Paul) Daley and John Fleischmann; four grandchildren: Kristen Barber, Chad Hornbeck, Spencer and Harrison Daley; great-grandson: Colby Barber; a sister: Nancy (Robert) Mable; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford, where a funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, June 13th. Burial will follow at Stamford Cemetery.
