Touched many people who have crossed his path in life, had a big heart,and helped many people without expecting in return.

It is our honor to have known and loved Al for many years. Gentle, loving, giving, caring are among the many attributes that describe him. The most recent time we saw Al was in Walmart's ice cream/frozen food aisle. We enjoyed hearing the latest news about his family.

Charlie and I were part of the 100 that Al took in. We came from Florida after talking to Al for over a year on the phone.

Al took us in to his heart and family.

When Charlie went home to be with the Lord, Al kept his promise to my husband that he would look out for me. He was a great friend and I will miss him dearly.

As one of the 100 taken into His home, my first (most valuable) memory of this father-figure was the love that he had for 2 young men he had taken in from Laos. I felt uncomfortable around them and wanting to know from me the reason why, he privately took me into his office. After hearing me, we both sat in silence. And after a few minutes he began to weep in my presence for a few long minutes. I cried as my heart was convicted before him, before God, as he shared how much these boys meant to him and why he took them in. He asked me if i could love them as Jesus did. I was never the same after that. He was a strong, quiet gentle giant and I will never forget him. Great is your reward my brother
