Obituary of Carolyn S. Boyle

 

Carolyn S. Boyle, 78, of Harpersfield, passed away on March 15th.

Carolyn was born to Clifford and Gertrude Sackett on April 24th, 1940 in Stamford, New York. Carolyn attended and was a cheerleader at Stamford Central School where she met her husband and childhood sweetheart. They married in 1958 and went on to have two children, Bill Boyle and Carrie Viola. Carolyn and William celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past year. After graduating from school Carolyn worked as a nurse’s aide at Stamford Community Hospital, was hired at several local shops, and spent many years working as a Harpersfield town assessor.

Carolyn was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. Carolyn also enjoyed the company of many great friends including her classmates from Stamford Central School, The 58ers. Carolyn was an active member of the Davenport Presbyterian Church, as well as the Harpersfield Historical Society. Carolyn was also a member of the Harpersfield Grange. Carolyn will be remembered by loved ones for her kindness, unending love for family and friends, and her unwavering strength of will.

Carolyn joins her parents as well as her siblings June and Richard in Heaven. She is survived by her husband William P. Boyle Sr.. Her siblings Doris Hager, Roger Sackett, and Robert Sackett. Her children Bill Boyle and Carrie Viola, and her four grandchildren Gavin Boyle, Morgan Boyle, Regina Viola, and John Viola.

Private services will be held at the convivence of the family.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Stamford Fire Department or the Harpersfield Historical Society.
