Obituary of Robert D. Hutchinson

Robert D. “Hutch” Hutchinson, 87, of DeLancey, passed away suddenly, January 4, 2019 at his home.

Born on May 9, 1931 in Columbus, OH, he was the son of the late Walter and LuLu (Kerns) Hutchinson.

Mr. Hutchinson proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War, honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal.

He was married to Mary Ellen Hutchinson, she passed away on August 18, 1992

Hutch was a self-employed contractor and built and remodeled many homes around the area.   He was a very independent man and enjoyed being self-sufficient.   He also enjoyed the outdoors and all that nature had to offer.

He is survived by his children; Robert “Bobby” (Karen) Hutchinson of Woodridge, Michael Hutchinson of Hamden and Jean (Shane) Lacey of Downsville; grandchildren: Jessica Stokes, Meredith Hutchinson and Justin (Lauren) Hutchinson all of Atlanta, GA, Christopher Lacey of Delhi and Alicia Ryder of Roscoe; and great-grandchildren: Brenden, Ava, Gavin, Kelsey, Taylor Kate, Lilly and Brooks.

Keeping with Hutch’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service, private entombment with his wife Mary Ellen will be held at G.H. Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery with full military honors will take place at the convenience of the family.
