Obituary of Beatrice Chichester Nichols

Beatrice Chichester Nichols, 87, of Bloomville, passed away at home Saturday morning, November 10, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Beatrice was born on December 8, 1930, the daughter of the late Inda and Guy Chichester.

She Graduated from South Kortright Central School in 1948 and Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Brooklyn, NY in 1951 with degree in Registered Nursing.

Mrs. Nichols married Edward L. Nichols, Jr. on April 13 in 1952. The couple have three children: Norma of Bismarck, ND, Gordon (Regina) of Bloomville and David (Renee) of Fairport; four grandchildren: Brent, Jordan, Noah and Maggie; and four great-grandchildren: Daxtin and Lane Nichols, Brooklyn Hanchett and Luca Sampogna.

Besides her husband Edward and her children and grandchildren, Bea is also survived by her sisters: Marjorie Milewski and Sylvia Ackerson and a brother: Seth Chichester.

She was deceased by her twin sister: Bernice in 1999; a brother: Stanley in 2000; and a sister: Laura in 2016.

Beatrice was an active member of the Stamford Harpersfield Senior Club and along with her husband received the Senior Citizen of the Year award in 2007 from the Delaware County Senior Council.

She was a member of the South Kortright Presbyterian Church (now the Community Church) for over 60 years and recently attended the United Ministry of Delhi.  Beatrice enjoyed crocheting, knitting and especially quilting, as she enjoyed gifting many quilts to family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the South Kortright Community Church, Co. Highway 18, South Kortright with the Rev. Bobby Outterson-Murphy officiating. A light lunch will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or the American Diabetes Association.
