Obituary of Allen E. Rybicky

Allen E. Rybicky, 65, Harpersfield, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, December 16, 2017 at his home.

Born October 8, 1952 to the late Edward and Regina (Cihocki) Rybicky. Allen was raised on a small family dairy farm where he learned the meaning of an honest, hard days work. Graduating with honors from West Leyden Central School, Allen was a member of the 1970 section 3 state championship Baseball Team. He would attend Cornell University and graduated, class of 1974, with a Bachelors of Science in Agronomy.

 Allen would go on to work for the Lowville Cooperative Extension, salesman for Walton Agway, and as a General Manager of Stamford Farmers Cooperative (34yrs), formally Stamford Agway. His small business approach of quality and service provided jobs when many of New York’s Ag. businesses closed their doors.

Allen served on the Stamford Central School Board for 15yrs, Stamford Golf Club board, and the Cooperative Feed Dealers Board of Directors.

He found the love of his life Deborah (Preston) Rybicky and married her on June 30, 1982. He was a good father to his two sons Brian and Justin.

Allen enjoyed shooting, golf, traveling and photography. He hiked and camped across the lower 48, finally visiting Alaska this past summer.  He was very proud of the pictures he took of wildlife and scenic views. 

Allen is survived by his wife Deborah. Sons: Brian and Justin; a Brother: Dale Rybicky; a sister Sharon (Wayne) Cunningham; nieces and nephews: Ryan, Teela, Corinne, and Shawna
