Obituary of Richard C. Ericson

Richard C. Ericson, 73, of Blenheim Hill, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at his home. Born on November 6, 1943 in Stamford, he was the son of the late John Henry and Gladys Elsie (Lindvall) Ericson. Richard was a graduate of Jefferson Central School, following high school, he proudly served his country in the US Army from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1966. Mr. Ericson was married to Kathleen (Beadling) Ericson on October 4, 1969, she passed away on March 16, 2016. Mr. Ericson was a union carpenter with the Local #281, until his retirement. Richard was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, especially bird hunting, He was also a gun enthusiast, and proud member of the NRA. Above all else, Richard enjoyed his family, He was a devoted father and proud grandfather. Besides his wife, Richard was predeceased by his granddaughter, Phoenix Mattice. He is survived by four daughters: Maureen Ericson Shafer, Amy Giaimo, Sarah Maxwell and Crystal Ericson; grandson: Dakota; granddaughters: Trinity, Seneca, Oliva, Katie, Ashliegh, Kayli and Michele; brothers: George H. and John R. Ericson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and relatives may call on the family from 11AM until 1PM at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave., Hobart on Monday, January 2, 2017, where a service will follow at 1PM with the Rev.
