Condolences
Hey Ol' Friend, its been many months now and I still cant come to terms with you leaving us so soon and unexpectedly. There isn't a day that passes that I'm not reminded of our friendship we developed over the many, many, years I knew you. You watched me grow up from a young boy into a man and remained close friends with the Pierce's and was part of the very essence of the Red Camp. I will never forget all the card games after all those great meals Dad (Herbie) cooked as we all had the best of appetites. The strength of the friendship developed over the 60 years the camp has been on that dam hill is unsurpassed and unmatched in this new world. Ill never forget all the stories of your childhood and what the mountain was like for you growing up, as only you could tell it. You embodied what every hunter and sportsman wanted to be, one of the best woodsman around. Thank you for sharing yourself with us and your family as we watched your children grow into beautiful young ladies. Ill never forget all those bumpy back road rides in your old international truck, that thing was killer and could mow down a house! But it was something only you, with your cool way, could pull off. I cant even begin to tell you how much it hurts going to camp now knowing you wont be waiting for me to get there and us hanging out. I miss all those jokes only you and I would laugh at. What ill never forget is your true friendship. Thank you for being you and allowing me to be me when we spent all that time together. You were a great mentor and I learned a great deal from you. I hope one day we will see each other again on those Red Camp hunting grounds. P.S. give all those Red Camp Hunters a big hug from me, we miss them all and don't win ever game of pitch, give'em a chance! To close this out with one of your lines "you hang in there now". Love, Mark, Kay and all the rest of us that still carry on in our traditions on the hill...
Had to give him the "bunny ears" cuz that is what he always did!

We are so sorry to learn of Richard's passing, and will miss our cousin. May he find peace in the happier hunting grounds of heaven. Our condolences to Richard's daughters and brothers.
With deep sorrow and shock to learn of Rich passing. We worked together for 30 years, traveled together, hunted together, shot trap together and broke bread together. Rich always had a way about him, and I'm going to miss "that way". Rest in peace my brother.
