Condolences
I attended SUNY Delhi 1972-75. I worked part time at the Delhi Diner with Jonesy and remember him well as a thoughtful, hard working and very funny guy. I know he was a favorite person among students and locals. I am so very sorry.
It is with a very heavy heart that 6 months after this tragedy, I learned through my brother that my mentor, cousin, and brother from another mother has passed away. My own brother Phillip found out recently through a third party. Our family never contacted us to let us know. Hell I never even knew his Mom, Aunt Martha had passed away! Although he was only 4 years older, Donny always was there when I needed advice, counseling and teaching. He showed me the ins and outs for both football and wrestling. Always visited our home. Took me under his wing. I am truly devastated in his passing. It's hard to fathom as he was always there for me when I really needed him. God bless my cousin and friend Donny Jones. I will miss him terribly. Love you cousin!
My "Brother from another Mother" was so special to me. Donny was always around the Barnhart household through our lives. Not only were we neighbors and classmates but Donny was always at the house hanging with my brothers. Donny gave so much of himself to the community of Delhi and he will be missed by all of us. Ride high on those angel wings Don and watch over us. RIP
I was a coworker of Don's at SUCO. Always a smile on his face, and I think his goal for every day was to make everyone he met smile … the jokes, the laughter, the great sense of humor … always available to help out in any way he could. Our paths crossed every once in a while after he retired, and he always had a big bear hug for me and a genuine interest in how I was doing and how my family was! The pictures of him really capture his spirit … generous, loving, caring and making sure you were always laughing and smiling and genuinely feeling loved when you were around him! We should all be inspired by his spirit and spread the love and kindness to all those we meet! God blessed me with the honor of knowing him, and may god bless his family and friends with the sweet memories they made with him to help them through this difficult time! Rest in peace sweet man!
A sympathy card was purchased for the family of Donald W. "Jonesy" Jones.
RIP Jonesy! It was a pleasure working with you. My deepest condolences to his family.

I have many pictures of my daughter visiting Santa. She will be sad to hear this news and we'll both be so sorry that we will not be able to attend his service. He was always warm and friendly no matter the context. Condolences to the family along with a thanks for sharing him with the community in so many ways for so many years!
Gosh, I remember when Don worked at Bugbee and he also worked in my building up at the college. He was a wonderful, good-hearted man who will be missed by many <3

Some memories of Donnie from his vacation to Aruba. Donnie you will be missed by so many but great memories live on.
Sincere condolences to Don's family. I worked at SUCO with Don and missed him after he retired. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
What a loss to our community. Don always made me feel like I could succeed at photography. I will always remember his quick smile and sense of humor. I am sorry for not just his family and friends but for the whole community.
It is with my deepest sympathy and it is truly hard to find the words to say, O'Connor Hospital lost a dear friend and our Holiday Parade Santa Claus. Don Jones has been our Santa for 15 years. Every year he volunteered to be Santa and enjoyed it very much. Don also played Santa at the Annual Bloomville Fire Dept. Ham Dinner and throughout the community. How fitting that our Santa made his last trip on Christmas Eve. Donny will be GREATLY missed not only hear at O'Connor Hospital but throughout the whole community. Donny was a very good friend. May God Bless him.
Michael Howard and Family.
Don, I will miss your hugs and quips. You were Santa Claus for most of my life - I always envision Santa with your face. A final hug for you...
One of my most precious memories of Don are the incredible cannonballs he would do at The pool in Delhi. Drained half the pool!!! His flips were pretty awesome too!! Will miss you my friend!!
I thank Don for being in my life and helping to give my daughter her trip to Germany. He was a very generious man in every way. God's peace be with his family.
Donny's loving spirit and generous nature is alive and spreading - as evidenced by all of these mounting tributes. When back in town visiting, he always greeted me with an enormous bear hug and caring words. Here's hoping the sweet memories will help heal the grieving hearts of his family. He will be missed!
My condolences to Don's family. He told me so many stories during the time he worked in Netzer. We had many laughs together. He loved to chat and enjoyed the people in each office. So sorry to learn of his passing. Steve Perry
I was fortunate to have worked with Jonesy at Suco Children's Center. He was a lot of fun and enjoyed making the children laugh. Rest In Peace
RIP Jonesy, You were a good friend, and always lightened the room when ever you walked in. I wish I was able talk longer to you when you were in the ED, you will be missed, keep them on their toes in heaven.
Those of us who were lucky enough to know him are a little better because he was in our lives. Rest peacefully kind soul.
He would kid me because I called him Donnie, not jonsey. I remember all those flips and dives he did at the pool, making it look so easy. I remember the good time we had at his 50 th party . The senior photos you did of the kids hang on my wall still. Another Delhi legend has passed and left us all a little empty. Rest well my friend
Donny was the best Santa ever. He made us all believers! Will nice Donny dearly.
Don was certainly one of the good guys. Always a smile and a kind word for everyone. I will miss seeing you around and chatting. Loved by so many, taken too soon, but surely to be remembered for his kind and selfless ways. My deepest sympathies to the family.
I enjoyed Don's humor and concern for others. He has left this earth way, way to soon. I enjoyed talking with him and seeing him on the SUNY Campus where we both worked. RIP Don, you will surely be missed by all!!! Gloria Hall
Don through your life you have shown what try caring for all is to be like. you are so missed. Prayers to all who mourn. May we carry a small portion of Don's compassion and love for life to the future.
We will miss the Saturday mornings that we spent together at the diner talking about the past and the present. I know he will be happy to be back with his mom, dad and brother. He missed his mother a lot.
I loved your big smile and a cheery hello when we crossed paths. You will be greatly missed. Florence and Carl Brown

The Active and Alumni Brothers Of Kappa Sigma Epsilon, SUNY@Delhi, are saddened to learn that our long time friend has passed from us.
We were fortunate and blessed to have had Don's friendship and support for over forty years
To the family, please accept of condolences at this sad time, but know that the good memories that Don has given, will provide the strength that he would of wanted for each of us.
To one of the best people in the world, loved you Don, you never lost sight of who you were, thoughtful, loving and giving. RIP
A red candle for Donny's Santa colors. A true generous spirit, he will be greatly missed by many former and current Delhi residents.
There are so many great memories of Don as a fellow classmate, wrestler and just an "all around great guy!" He contributed to much to his class in organizing reunions and seemed to "pop up" whenever we were in Delhi and catch up! He was the "true" Santa Claus of Delhi and surrounding areas not just at Christmas but all year through! Don, you were "one of a kind" and will be greatly missed!! Rob and Lynda Mason
Sad. Very sad. The big guy, Don Jones who worked in the game room, pool room at SUNY Delhi where we went to college in 1991 to 1993. Uncle Don Jones, the man who put on a red Santa Claus costume for over 30 years and rode in a sleigh down Main Street in our hometown, Delhi,NY passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2016. Sad.
