Obituary of Ernest J. Saccaro

Ernest J. Saccaro Jr., 80, of Stamford, passed away on Monday morning, November 9, 2015 at Robinson Terrace following a long battle with colon cancer. Born of July 31, 1935 in Stamford, the son of the late Ernest and Constance (Bassani) Saccaro, Sr. Following his graduation from Grand Gorge Central School, Ernest served his country in the US Army during the 1950's, following his honorable discharge he returned home and helped with the operation of the family farm in the town of Roxbury, He continued to assist in the operation of Saccaro Brothers Farm with his brother Donald until recently. Ernest enjoyed landscaping and gardening on his property, He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing and hunting, Ernest especially liked to deer hunt. He is survived by his brother, Donald Saccaro of Stamford; a sister, Constance Mangini of NH; nieces and nephews: Michael Mangini of CT, Tracy Sylven of MA, Mark Gadbois of CA, Debra Gadbois of OR, Steven Gadbois of CA and Jeffery Gadbois of CT. Besides his parents, Ernest was predeceased by a sister, Sylvia Gadbois. At Ernest's request there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Cremation took place at Hillington Crematory, Morris. Arrangements are under the direction of MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave., Hobart.
