Condolences
Loving memories of Sue when my family and I lived in Delhi from 1984-1990. Even since then we would share birthday greetings, Christmas cards every year and phone calls from time to time. Such a loving friend--someone I could always count on for support and encouragement. I am in shock and will miss her. God Bless You, Dom, Megan, Matt, and Mike. She was a wonderful woman. Sue was a mentor and role model to me in Delta Kappa Gamma. I will always cherish the fond memories I have of her leadership, guidance, and wisdom. I am a better person for having known her. My thoughts are with you, her family, at this time, as I can only imagine, how deeply you will miss her.

I had the pleasure to work with Sue from her very start at D.A.. In her many roles she was always caring and professional. As a teacher she was always concerned about her students. As a parent of really great kids she was a fantastic mom and role model. As a friend she would always find time to say hello and ask me about my family. I will always remember her great smile. Her spirit always brought a smile to my face and I am so glad to have known such a special person.

Terry and I are heartbroken. Sue's smile and positive outlook will always be with us. She said to me on more than one occasion that Matt and Mike were lucky to have me in their lives. What a kind thing to say. But no Sue, it was I who was the lucky one, knowing you and your family.

You were an angel sent from God to all of us at Delaware Academy and in the Delhi community. I remember meeting you for the 1st time in kindergarten and you remained the same beautiful, kind, sweet person all these years. Your smile brightened the hallways of D.A. and your gentle voice saying "hi sweetie" made even the hardest day the best day at school. You will never know how much your smile, kinds words, and warm hugs meant to me and so many others all these years. The simple act of caring spoke volumes of love to many.
You had such an amazing, positive impact on so many lives, and your smile and warm spirit will remain in the hearts of everyone who ever met you.
May God give peace and comfort to all who lost our angel, especially family and dear friends.
Cannot believe that Delaware Academy has lost another influential teacher and role model. To the Morales family may you be comforted by the knowledge of how many she touched.
To laugh often and much,
to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children,
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends,
to appreciate beauty,
to find the best in others,
to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch...
to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived
This is to have succeeded.

You'll be missed so much - thank you for all your contributions to the students at DA Elementary! You are a beautiful soul!
Back then I was an elementary school kid who couldn't say "Sammy snake" and now I get told all the time what a great presenter I am. THANK you Mrs Morales for changing my life. You were the best, most wonderfully patient, lovely and self esteem building speech therapist a little girl could hope for. I hope I can accomplish as much as you did directly in the lives of your students. You will be missed!

Sue was an amazing person and friend. Although I have not seen her in several years, I always considered her to be one of those "special people" who come into your life and leave a lasting impression. Sue and I were both speech pathologists, so we shared a love of our profession with one another. When I became Director of Special Education at Walton Central School in the early 1980's, Sue was also sharing the same duties at Delaware Academy. I know she will be greatly missed by all who had the joy of knowing her. May she rest in peace. Thinking of her today with love. Suzanne Brown

What a beautiful person Mrs Morales was. Some of my favorite childhood memories are the days I spent in her classroom. My wife Joan and myself go way back with Sue. Three of us were young teachers at DA in early 70 s . I can still see Sue and Joan sitting at the bar on Friday s at the old Molinari s restaurant after a week at school .They both had apartments near each other , we would ride bikes on a Sunday afternoon, cross country ski in the winter and Friday afternoon unwinding. My wife is gone and Sue is gone , we are all left with great memories that will never be forgotten . I'm sure they are together talking over old times at
from Treadwell and DA.

Sue touched so many lives; she may be gone from us, but is now just ...
"A Little Step Away"
To close the eye, to fall asleep,
To draw a labored breath,
To find release from daily cares
In what we know as death…
Is this the crowning of a life,
The aim or end thereof?
The totaled sum of consciousness.
The ripened fruit of love?
It cannot be, for works of God
Are wrought for nobler ends.
And those away continue on
In the hearts of kin and friends.
It cannot be, for they live on
A little step away.
The soul, the everlasting life,
Has found a better day.
~ D.J. Hanson

I had the honors of working at the elementary school and being around Sue every day. There wasn't a day that went by that her smiling face and her hand waving always made my day. She always thanked us for coming to work. Wow, what a lady she was. I will miss her terribly, her smile was contagious, and always made me feel special. She was always available to talk and made me feel like I actually did matter to the kids I love at the school. I,ll miss you so much my friend.

I had Miss Mangan when I was in first grade at Delaware Academy. I loved her smile and understanding heart throughout my childhood. She always stopped and took time to talk to me all through high school, as well. When my children were in elementary school they all received speech services and Mrs. Morales was there for them. Many times we had conversations about my children and hers. She worked with my daughters Kate and Emily for years and had a wonderful bond with them. When she retired last year, the school missed her kind heart and warm smile. Whenever I saw her out and about she always had time to chat and listen to what was going on with my daughters. I know that she is in heaven watching over all of her family, friends and my family, as well, with a beautiful smile on her face. God Bless the Morales family. Sincerely, Ellen Davis and family
