Obituary of Amanda D. Wait
Amanda D. (Luquer) Wait, 38, of Delhi was called home to our lord on Thursday, August 20, at O'Connor Hospital surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on January 12, 1977, she is the daughter of Katherine and Dale Scofield and Earl Luquer.
Amanda attended Davis College in Binghamton, where she met many friends that she enjoyed staying in touch with. She worked at serveral area businesses, including Ames, McDonald's and especially Good Cheap Food in Delhi.
She had and appriciation for nature and animals. She loved cooking, gardening and crafts. One of Amanda's favorite hobbies was photography. Taking pictures of clouds was a great enjoyment because she loved clouds.
Most of all Amanda loved people. She loved to laugh and loved to hear others laugh. Her Christian faith was most important to her and she lived it out. She was caring and compassionate. Family and friends were important to her and she loved them deeply.
We will miss her greatly and will miss her sweet smile that she loved to share.
Amanda was married to Jeffrey Wait on July 12, 2008 at Meridith Baptist Church.
Besides her parents and husband all of Delhi; Amanda is survived by her grandmother: Eleanor Jersey of Meridale; siblings: Laura Bryant of Cooperstown, David Luquer of AZ, Kimberly West of West Saugerties, Christopher Luquer of Kingston, Megan Luquer of Delhi; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, August 26, at Meridale Community Church, County Highway 10, Meridale, friends are invited to call on the family from 10AM-noon before the service at Church. Burial will follow the funeral in Pine Grove Cemetery, Meridale
