Condolences
I only knew Rob Laing through Ken Gorton. I remember if the Country Express was going to be performing I wanted to make darn sure that we got up to Andes to watch them. Especially when it was Andes Day. You can always go to the park and watch them sing and play. I always thought that Rob Laing's was a cross between Johnny Cash and Leroy Van Dyke.
Sorry to hear the passing of Rob just yesterday...I to went to Andes Central School and remember Rob and his band playing in the Gym, 1964 or so.. He always had a kind word for me in high school. I now live in Ct. My prayers are with you and your family Loretta. Gerry Wright 1SGT Retired U.S. Army. Formerly of Bovina Center

So sorry to hear of Rob's passing, sending thoughts and prayers to Loretta and the entire family.
Robbie you were one of a kind.! May you be resting in peace and hanging out with jimmy Vandenberg doing what you guys did best. Either going for coffee taking rides to who knows where for the day or just complaining about everything (haha). I guess jimmy needed his buddy that he had known almost his whole life to be in heaven so you guys could pick up where you left off a year and 21 days days ago. May your friendship now live on in heaven.
Rob will be truly missed! I was blessed to be his friend and able to listen to his music.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and circle of friends.
Rob was one of my classmates of the Class of 1964. He will be missed but his music will live on. Rob gave my husband and me a few of his CD's and we will treasure his voice and memory. Rest in peace dear Man.

Rob was a great person to know. I am glad that I got to know him. We shared many interests. A person that will be missed greatly. Never get him started with politics you would get a ear full. He loved fishing.I got to spend time with him doing that with Trent. It was fun. Got to play volleyball on the lawn at the family picnic.
