Obituary of Mark E. Howarth
Mark E. Howarth is survived by his mother, Kathleen Howarth; his ex-wife, Anne Howarth; his four children Lucas (Jenna), Ian, Colin, and Caitlin (Jaret) Miller; his newly born granddaughter Emma Miller; his partner, Christa Keller; an aunt: Elizabeth Young; and his cousins: Laura (Alan) Simons and Mary Beth Young, also surviving is his aunt: Anna Feeney and numerous cousins in Ireland and Canada.
Mark was predeceased by his Dad: Owen; and sister Mary Elizabeth Howarth.
As a young man, Mark helped his family (Owen, Kathleen, and sister Mary Elizabeth Howarth) with operating their dairy farm, played sports, and enjoyed canoeing, his Dad said "he was a great lad". Mark graduated Delaware Academy in 1974. In 1984, Mark graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Agriculture and Business. After graduation, Mark took over the Norberg Dairy Farm for the next 11years. During this time, Mark became an active community member. Mark was a volunteer in the East Meredith Fire Dept and helped form the first responder unit, becoming the first captain of the responders. In addition, Mark taught farm accident and rescue courses to other local rescue and fire departments.
In 1996, Mark moved to Tucson, Arizona and worked in the agricultural department of the University of Arizona. In 2000, Mark moved back to Delaware County and lived there until his passing. Mark loved and was loved greatly by his family and friends. He was a man with a good temperament, great sense of humor, and had a deep love for the outdoors and a passion for growing things.
Mark Howarth will be missed by all that knew him.
On October 15, 2016 services will be held at the MacArthur Funeral Home at 131 Main St. in Delhi at 11am. Mark's family requests that friends join them at the East Meredith Fire Department at 1 pm for refreshments and a celebration of his life.
