I only knew Mark in high school but remember him as kind and friendly. I don't remember him ever saying anything bad or mean about anyone.

Mark was a distanced cousin, and as a young boy we always visited the farm during the summer, and fall hunting trips with my Dad. They would also come down to the city and we would go to the ocean. He and his sister Mary Elizabeth loved swimming in the ocean. Mark was a good friend and will be missed by his family. Rest in peace my friend!

I remember Mark as a handsome kid playing baseball on the Amerian Legion field in Delhi. I remember following him in a canoe race on the Susquehana all the way from Cooperstown to the end of the race somewhere down-river. In fact, I filmed the race.

His dad, Own, was the supervisor in the Town of Meredith for several years. His mother, Kathleen, was the town tax collector, I think. She said when she was campaigning she told people that yes, she was Catholic, and she was from New Rochelle, but they should vote for her because she needed the money. They were a great family!
