Obituary of Bruce Alan Schoonmaker

Bruce Alan Schoonmaker, Jr., 52, of Davenport, NY died unexpectedly Saturday, September 29, 2012 in Thorndale, Pennsylvania. He was born on March 3, 1960 in Stamford, the son of Bruce and Billie Mae (Graig) Schoonmaker of Davenport, NY.
Bruce served four years in the United States Marine Corps as a Reconnaissance Scout Sniper and received and honorable discharge. Later he was employed as a master mechanic and welder and worked for many businesses and individuals over the years in both New York and Pennsylvania. He inherited his amazing mechanical abilities from his father and could fix just about anything. One of his favorite pastimes was helping friends and neighbors get their equipment up and running again whether it was a lawn tractor, Amish horse-drawn baler, or a huge computer-operated machine.
He is survived by Margaret (Fuller) Schoonmaker; their four children, Beth, Rachel, Paula, and Bruce, III; two grandchildren Athena and Neko Hendrickson, all of Harpersfield; his brother Bill Post of New Berlin; sisters, Sharon (Joe) Dianich of Davenport, Karen and Robin Schoonmaker of Stamford, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Billie Mae (Graig) Schoonmaker.
Donations in Bruce's name are asked to be made to the Davenport Fire Department.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, NY.
