Obituary of Ardeth Harmon

Ardeth “Ardy” B. Harmon, 93, of The Pavilion in Stamford, passed away on March 7, 2024.

Born on May 26, 1930 in Syracuse, Ardy was the daughter of the late Carl and Zeres (Jones) Busch.

Ardy graduated from Eastwood High in Syracuse, where she met her husband of 72 years, Jack. They were married on June 19, 1949 at the Old Welsh Church in Nelson, NY. They moved to Jefferson/Stamford area in 1956 after Jack became manager of the GLF Feed & Farm Supply. She had various jobs, including Personnel Director at Stamford Hospital and personnel at Mallinckrodt, real estate agent and telephone operator. Her family were most proud of her earning a Bachelor of Science Degree from Empire State College in 1990.

Ardy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had many hobbies including being an avid reader, quilting, golf and solving jigsaw puzzles. She cherished the times she spent with her family, especially those with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a warm personality and made friends easily. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her son: Jack D. (Pam) Harmon of Longboat Key, FL; five grandchildren: Eamonn (Jenny), Meghan, Brendan (Lauren), Justin (Amanda) and Matthew (Taylor); three great-grandchildren: Ronan, Riley, and Rory and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank The Pavilion, Helios Care and her close friends Kathy Tompkins and the Callahan Family. 

Ardy was predeceased by her husband Jack; her daughter: Melodie “Dee”; a son: Kurt; and her son-in-law: Kevin Neary. 

Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
