Obituary of Stanley Martin

DELANSON — Stanley Martin, 68, of Delanson, formerly of Bloomville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. He was born Aug. 24, 1944, in Delhi, the son of Wendell and Elizabeth (Sackett) Martin. He married Sherry Burdick on Aug. 30, 1969. A graduate of South Kortright Central School, Stanley was a dairy farmer all his life. He is survived by his wife, Sherry, Delanson; a son, Jerry Martin; and daughter, Shelley (Pete) Schwedatschenko; brothers, Wendell (Erma) Martin and Donald (Juanita) Martin; sisters, Betty Munro and Jeanne Pittenger; and sister-in-law, Kathy Martin; grandchildren, Christopher "Mikey" (Melissa) Peterson, Rebecca "Sweetie Pie" Quist, Danielle Schwedatschenko; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Aiden, Logan, Dante, Tyler and Ella. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Bloomville United Methodist Church, Bloomville, with the Rev. Mark DelGiudice officiating.
