EAST MEREDITH Julia D. Misiewicz, 98, of East Meredith, departed from this life on Thursday, March 07, 2013, at home in East Meredith. She was born on February 16, 1915 in Nanticoke, PA, the daughter of A. and Mary (Lankowski) Skonieczki. She married Ben Misiewicz in Nanticoke, PA, in 1938. He predeceased her in 1968. After getting married, Julia and her husband Ben moved from Nanticoke, to Bridgeport, CT, to NYC and eventually settled in East Meredith in 1968. She spent many years enjoying company on the farm from her visiting family. From her brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, to her nieces and nephews, they all loved to visit. A house wife, Julia enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking care of her family. She was a member of the St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Delhi, for over 50 years. Julia is survived by her son, Bart Misiewicz of East Meredith, her son Ben and Margaret Misiewicz of Vero Beach, Fla., and her daughter, Rita and Nicholas DeGraw of East Meredith; 3 granddaughters, Christine, Joanne, and Elizabeth; 4 grandsons, Mark, Eric, Scott, and Johnathan; 3 great granddaughters; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by 11 siblings. Calling hours will take place on Monday, March, 11, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi. A mass will be celebrated also, on Monday, at the St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Delhi, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Edward Golding officiating. Burial will take place in Woodland Cemetery in the spring.
