Obituary of Helen Soules

Oneonta Helen Soules, 84 of Oneonta, NY passed away August 2, 2013 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York. She was born February 19, 1929 in Bloomville, NY the daughter of Perry and Elma (Dross) Craft. She married Raymond Soules May 15, 1953 in Downsville, NY. He predeceased her, August 14, 1974. Helen worked as an Adult Caseworker for Delaware County Department of Social Services in Delhi, NY. A lifelong area resident she enjoyed membership on a bowling team; spending lunches with friends; reading with a hot cup of tea and she loved being with people and help them in any way she could. She is survived by special sisters Sally and Lewis VanAiken, New Foundland, PA, Marion Keyser, Stamford; step-daughters Pat Wolcott and Beverly Ecker, Livingston Manor; grandchildren, Hank Wolcott and Keith Wolcott; great grandchildren, Gene Wolcott and Jessica Wolcott all of Livingston Manor; a niece Alyce and Larry Bauer, Morris ; nephews, Richard and Lorraine Kosier and Jeff Kosier, Stamford; and other special nieces and nephews. Calling hours will take place on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 10:00am until service time at 11:00am at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart, NY with Rev. Mel Farmer officiating. Burial will follow the service in Downsville Cemetery, Downsville, New York. Contributions in her memory may be made to Catskill Area Hospice or American Heart Association.
