Dave had taken care of my Uncle's (Dick Guthrie) computer needs for many years. He was a good friend to Dick and was always there to help with his computer work. Thanks, Dave, for your help and care.
Kenny, David & Brian

Dave and I met at the Catskill Center for Independence where we both were working at the time. He quickly became a good friend and although we hadn't seen each other for many years, I never forgot what a kind and thoughtful person he was. We are all fortunate to have known him. Our sympathy goes out to his family and friends.
I'm writing this for myself and my Mom(Gloria Cimko). We both first met Dave when he did a computer class at Boces in Milford We had so much fun and lots of laughter.Dave was the best sport, because I was busting him every chance I got.The class was so much fun, that we both took another one and we all became very good friends and remained that way for over 30 years.Dave did so much for me concerning my computer,he was there whenever I called and no problem ever.I personally will miss him very much and Mom will as well.My Mom and I will keep all the Ackerman family in our prayers and will continue to smile when we think of Dave and how blessed we both were to have had him in our lives and to have known him. Sincerely, Gloria Cimko and Sheila Eldred

He was easy to talk with and fixed many computers in homes, business in church and in the surrounding area. We enjoyed seeing him at breakfast at Gersters, sometimes with his son Kenny and his good friend Elyse.
Sorry to hear of y'alls loss. Brian and family
I have been friends with David since first grade. We went to the same school thru high school. We always had a close friendship even though we lived most of our lives on different sides of the country.
He will be missed but he is with the lord now. Bye David.
There are these moments in our lives that our memory holds onto, refusing to let go. Sometimes it's sad, other times it's joy, but it's those moments of true friendship and caring that are stuck in our minds today as we learned of the passing of a dear friend, David Ackerman. Dave had a 30 year relationship with our Center and made a lot of friends along the way. Some were work acquaintances and some were friends he cared for so strongly that you would have to wonder if they were related by blood. On Friday Danny Goldman and I stopped by to see Dave and make sure he was getting on ok. We knew that his prognosis was not good, as did Dave, however we sat and laughed together for over an hour about everything from crazy work stories to wild memories he had of his life. Dave never asked for anything, but was always willing to give anything he had to help someone he cared for…Saving him from the horrors of Cancer was not in our power, but offering him the same caring friendship he offered many others was important to us, as Dave believed this kind of offering was the best gift to be bestowed on another. We will always love you and remember your kind offerings of friendship Dave…Rest in Piece old friend!
Ken, So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing---our thoughts are with you and family at this time. Sincerely, Rick Kopf and Dee Sheldon
Dave, Tina & Family. Our hearts go out to you all at this time. At this time we know how hard it is, but think of the good times!! All the happy memories. How proud he was of you all, as you were of him. He is now resting peacefully. Take comfort in this thought. You are all very lucky to have your family, take comfort in each other. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Mary & Scott
I only met Dave twice, but he was a dear friend to my mother, Priscilla Pickwick, who passed away in May. Throughout my mother's two year cancer battle Dave was so encouraging for her. He sent her Facebook messages and called her often. He was a good friend to her and extremely compassionate to me and my family when she passed. I wish I had known him better! May you find comfort in your wonderful memories. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.
I only knew him for a short time, but those few memories will remain with me for the rest of my life, and though I may not be connected by blood, I feel like he was my papa too.
You will be greatly missed, may you rest in peace.
Sending along our deepest sympathies to the family of Dave Ackerman. May he rest in peace, and may you smile at the unexpected and awesome memories you'll have when you think of him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

I was so sad to hear of your passing earlier this week. I wish you had been well enough to visit in July but at least we were reunited at David & Tina's a few years ago. I will always cherish my visits to "the farm" growing up. It was a very different experience for this city girl and you made them all the more enjoyable. You will be missed. XOXO
I only knew Dave for a little over a year, but in that short amount time we became great friends. I enjoyed talking to him at work every morning and always appreciated his thoughtfulness and care. He would always ask me how my weekend was or how my wife was, even though he had never met her. I was fortunate to see him last Friday and we spent a few hours laughing and telling stories, just like we did at work each morning. He was a great man and I'm so grateful I got to meet him and call him my friend. My condolences and thoughts are with your family.
Sorry to here of your loss Brian &family
We knew David thru a mutual friend. David was the MOST amazing computer wizard ! He knew the ins & outs, always so helpful either thru phone calls, f.b. messages or emails. What a good friend he became during the many visits to our house with the problems we had. Thank you for letting us get to know your Dad over the past 10 years or so. I (Marie) always got a hug from him too ! We will miss his help, wit & smile. God Bless him. May your love & memories of your Dad keep you strong during this difficult time.
We are sorry for your loss. We are blessed to have known Dave for so long. He was a huge help to our success and we treasure him for his service to us. We will truly miss him and we know you will, too. We will keep you all in our prayers.
