Obituary of Doug E. Francisco

DELHI Doug E. Francisco, 81, of Delhi, died Sunday, December 15, 2013 at O'Connor Hospital, Delhi, with his loving wife at his side. He was born on March 21, 1932 in Hamden, the son of Alton and Deetta (Frost) Francisco. He married Cathy Cannistra on Sept 2, 1958 in Walton. A life-long area resident, Doug was employed as a supervisor for the Delaware County Highway Department for 37 years. A member of the Delhi College Golf Course, he loved golfing, spending winters in Florida and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cathy Francisco of Delhi; son, Vernon & Cindy Francisco of Pottstown, PA; son, Jeff & Jayne Francisco of Walton; daughter, Denise McGowan & Mike Hinkley of Treadwell; son, Brian & Lorraine Francisco of Delhi; grandchildren, Kaity (Justin) Pearce, Derek Francisco (Kaitlin Rosengrant), Meagan (Amanda) Francisco, Michelle (Felipe) Soto, Lindsey McGowan & Sean McGowan; great granddaughter, Haley Soto; sisters, Hester Marshall, Alma Georgia, and Joyce & Bill Wilkow; and several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Wanda, Arlene & Jean; and 3 brothers, Lyn, Vernon and his twin Don. Calling hours will take place on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi. A memorial service will take place on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the United Ministry, Delhi.
