Obituary of Janet C. Bolles
DELHI
Janet C. Bolles, 77, passed away Thursday, February 06, 2014 at O'Connor Hospital, Delhi, surrounded by family.
She was born on December 26, 1936 the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth (Jester) Cope. She married George E. Bolles on December 7, 1957 in Oneonta.
A graduate of Oneonta High School, Janet began her career working for the Division of Parole in Albany. She also worked at the Oneonta Telephone Company as an Operator and after she married she worked at the Victory Store in Delhi.
She and George later settled on the farm at Hamden Hill where they raised 5 kids and she took care of the home. For many years she drove the Hamden Hill School bus.
Janet loved to be outside mowing the lawn and gardening. She also enjoyed square dancing and country music. She and George enjoyed traveling and looked forward to vacations every year. They often took evening rides to take in the countryside.
One of her greatest pleasures was spending time with her grandchildren, Brandon and Justin. Janet often attended and was there to support her children and grandchildren for many school and sporting events.
She was a long time member of the DeLancey United Presbyterian Church, DeLancey.
Janet is survived by her husband George Bolles of Delhi; her children, Candy Bolles of Newport News, Virginia, Roger and Joan Bolles of Delhi, John Bolles of Rochester, Kevin Bolles of Rochester, and Sherry and Mike Simonds of Delhi; grandchildren, Brandon and Justin Simonds of Delhi, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; siblings, Beatrice McVay, Glenn Cope, Joyce Utter, Doris Robinson, Edwin Cope; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and in-laws; and siblings, Harry Cope, Lewis Cope, Clarence Cope, Jr., and Marie Luckfield.
A memorial service for friends and family will take place on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the DeLancey United Presbyterian Church, DeLancey, with Rev. Bert More officiating. There will be a coffee hour after the service.
There will be no calling hours.
Burial will take place in the spring in Woodland Cemetery, Delhi, at the convenience of the family.
