Obituary of Patricia E. Lee
BOVINA CENTER Patricia E. Lee, 87, of Bovina Center, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at O'Connor Hospital, Delhi, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on December 2, 1926 in Queens, the daughter of Joseph and Eugenie (Meyer) Hernandez. She married Hugh E. Lee on June 14, 1952 in Queens. Moving to the area in the mid 70's, out of their love of the countryside, Hugh and Patricia thought it would be better to raise their children here. After retirement they enjoyed traveling cross-country and overseas. Patricia was an avid reader, donating many books to the Bovina Library. She also enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching. She was a long-time member of the Bovina United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Hugh Lee of Bovina Center; son, Jonathan & Mary Lynne Lee of Sauquoit; daughter, Susan & Randy Brown of Delhi; daughter, Jennifer Aikens of Bovina; grandchildren, Emma Brown of Rochester, Katie & Matthew Aikens of Bovina, and Justin Lee of Sauquoit; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Joseph & Stephen Hernandez. Friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, April 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, April 8 at 11 a.m. at the Bovina United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Garrett Schindler officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Bovina Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Donations are asked to be made to the Bovina Emergency Squad & the Bovina Library.
