Obituary of William Brockway
DAVENPORT — William "John" Brockway, 73, of Davenport, passed away at home, surrounded by family, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 5, 1940, in Davenport, the son of Arthur and Marion (Graney) Brockway. He married Donna Dorosky Aug. 16, 1964, at St. Mary's, Oneonta. In 1985, he retired after 17½ years of service as a cutter/grinder for General Electric in Schenectady. He is survived by his wife, Donna Brockway, his spouse of 50 years; two sons, Marc Brockway and Matthew Brockway and Allison Fletcher; daughter-in-law, Gweyn Brockway; grandchildren, Luke Brockway (Jordyn Hillis), Aleigha Brockway, Cassidy Brockway, Kyle, Jackie and Tanner Beang; three sisters, Billie Rossback (Dee), Josephine Anderson and Donna Modinger (Fritz); a brother, Michael Brockway (Cyndi); many nieces and nephews. His parents, Art and Marion Brockway; brothers, Arthur, David and Jimmy; and a sister, Patty Doroski, predeceased him. Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m., Saturday, June 21, at Word of Faith Christian Family Center, Maryland, with Pastor Frank MacCracken Jr. officiating. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions in his memory may be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care.
