Obituary of Elizabeth K. Palmer

EAST MEREDITH Elizabeth K. Palmer, 78, of East Meredith, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 19, 2014. She was born on December 28, 1935 in Oosterzee, Netherlands, the daughter of Richard and Carla Kroes. She married Roy W. Palmer on October 8, 1955 in Meredith at the Meredith Baptist Church. He predeceased her on August 4, 2012. A farmers wife and 57 year resident of the area, Elizabeth was a member of the Delhi Community Church and the Meredith Historical Society. Elizabeth is survived by 4 children, Ronald W. and Landa V. Palmer, Rachel E. and Thomas J. Luerssen, Richard J. Palmer, and Ruthanna J. and Steve F. Wilson; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Yeska and Donald Dibble; a brother, Johannes Kroes; 3 brothers in law, Cecile E. and Beverly Palmer, Ronald L. Palmer, and Mahlon R. Palmer and Barbara Pitt; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents and 2 sisters. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Delhi Community Church, Delhi, with Rev. Derek Johnson officiating. The family will greet people prior to the service at the church beginning at 11:30. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Meridale, at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the O'Connor Hospital for their compassionate and skilled care of Elizabeth during her stay.
