Obituary of Edith Lillian Liddle
HAMDEN Edith Lillian Liddle, 93, of Hamden, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at her home in Hamden after suffering respiratory problems. Edith was born on May 9, 1921 in Shavertown, the daughter of the late Archie and Nora (Loveless) Titch. She married Jehiel Gilchrist Liddle on August 20, 1944. They had met while attending Andes Central School. Edith was a member of the Chambers Hollow Craft Club, the Hamden Bible Study Group, the Merry Eight Pinochle Group, the Cabin Hill Missionary Society, and the New Year's Eve Card & Dinner Group. She was also an Elder of the Hamden Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered for the birthday cakes she made for friends and neighbors. Edith is survived by five children, John Liddle, Linda (Blitz) Barton, David Liddle, Beverly Scott, and Daniel Liddle; 7 grandchildren, April Scott, Adam Scott, Alex Scott, Julie McLaughlin, Dana Liddle, Sarah Barnard-Blitz, and Leah Blitz; and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jehiel; a daughter, Joyce Mae Liddle; a sister LaVerna Murphy; and brothers Ralph and Floyd Titch. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Hamden Presbyterian Church, Hamden, with Lay Minister Karen Marshfield officiating. Refreshments will follow.
