Obituary of Mildred Reinertsen

BOVINA CENTER Mildred Reinertsen, 94, of Bovina Center, died on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville. She was born on February 3, 1920 in Pine Hill, the daughter of Cedric and Anna (Smith) Kittle. She married Leif Reinertsen on June 4, 1938 in Bovina. Mildred helped with the family farm and worked in food service. She was a member of the Bovina United Presbyterian Church and the Bovina Firemen's Women's Auxiliary. Mildred is survived by 3 daughters, Marie Burns, June (Jack) Burns, and Norma (Anthony) Gabriel; one sister, Gertrude Hall; grandchildren, Amy (Tom Lamport) Burns, Colleen (Ken) Heavey, Lisa (Jason) Stanton, Monica (Mike) Liddle, and Kyle (Michele) Gabriel; 8 great grandchildren; cousins Hilton Kelly, and June Plane; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Cedric and Anna Kittle; husband Leif Reinertsen; son in law, Robert Burns; and brother in law, Clifford Hall. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Bovina United Presbyterian Church, Bovina Center, with Rev. Garrett Schindler officiating. Burial will follow in Bovina Cemetery, Bovina Center. Contributions in her memory are asked to be made to the Bovina United Presbyterian Church or the Bovina EMT Squad.
